Baseball veteran "Singing" Ed Nottle, manager of the Brockton Rox, was hired last year as a consultant by Boston-based producer Julie Campbell for a film about a minor-league baseball manager. He did such a good job that now the film will be about his life. "I'm Still Standing: The True-Life Story of `Singing' Ed Nottle" is being produced by Campbell's independent film company in Hull. It'll be directed by Peter CB Masterson (brother of actress Mary Stuart Masterson) and written by Eugene Corr, who begins shadowing Nottle at the team's season opener in Brockton May 27. Nottle will be recognized at the event, MC'd by baseball promoter Mike Veeck, part owner of the Brockton Rox. It may be attended by actors and co-owners Bill Murray (listed in the program as the Rox official Director of Fun) and Jimmy Fallon.
